Indeed. Beautiful pics out there at flickr! So different to my region, although we have mountains here too. But it's deserted + the vegetation is different. Got a hold on a digicam this weekend. Keep your fingers crossed for good weather and I'll climb up every mountain for you.
Very beautiful sunrises I experienced in La Mancha in Spain. Maybe because it's quite high there + desert like. Es una llanura. I'll post some pics soon. The smell there was also fascinating. But I didn't connect it especially with the altitude because in Catalunya near the seaside it smelled very similar - that's one of my most intense childhood memories.
