Poets and Angels - live
I cannot stop listening to this version of Poets and Angels. Jon does some fantastic bass work. I'd love to hear this song with OL playing one of the Devoe Negras and Jon on the Lakland fretless bass. Maybe this fall?
I realize I should make the cool links that everyone else does where by clicking the highlighted word, the reader can be whisked away to the website that relates to the topic I'm writing about. I just can't figure out how to do it. Every time I can't figure out something on the computer and need to ask for help, I feel like somebody's father who just doesn't get it. Then today, it hit me. I am somebody’s father, times three. I guess I'm entitled. So, who's going to help the clueless guy out and teach me the link trick?

How to do what? Oh!! You mean one of those ultracool hyperlink dealies. No clue. Sorry!
OK. Adam's out of the will.
There's one in every crowd!!!
Hey...you're never too old to learn that's what makes us young...parents or not.
Did you figure it out? I tried to type it in here but it won't let me add html code. The blogger editor for your postings automatically does it for you, too.
I have no clue what Adam was typing there. So if you're with me, don't listen to him!
But it should be very easy: as JustMe mentioned, there's an icon directly above the writing field of your blogger editor. It says "links" or soemthing. You mark the word you want to put a link on, click that icon, insert the adress in the field that opened et voilà!
There's a code as well but that's far more complicated.
But most important: how do you like the Poets & Angels recording? Here for my taste the bass is too present. Maybe it was the style Jon was playing back then but I think it's not balanced. Would very much to hear that song live in a new version.
Alright then, its settled. When I die, Borya gets all my stuff. Thanks Buddy!
Borya, I'm curious now about your sound system. The bass on the live Poets and Angels is near perfect. No hollow effect at all. Are you listening to this with through headphones?
Well, Matt, if you'd clicked the last link, which said "sorry"......
hehe
Adam....you try clicking on "sorry": it doesn't show you the code behind the links! Unless of course you know how to view the source code.
Yeah, whats an old caveman like me know about code?
so, Matt, did you figure it out yet?
Sure did. Even edited my post.
Why, it sure does, Just Me! Unless......hmm, your browser might be viewing it as HTML. Which is really, really weird. I made it a text file exactly so that wouldn't happen.
~sigh~ You know, here I am trying to help, and do I get any recognition? Any respect? No. I'm going to go cry now.
Was that melodramatic enough?
Oh...get over it! :-)
Sorry, Adam, I had to specifically click on "view source code" to see your code. If you weren't viewing the actual code it didn't make any sense.....not trying to be difficult...HONEST!...I use Internet Explorer....yeah, yeah, I know....that explains alot.
Anyhow,Matt now knows how to do this. And Matt...maybe you should reconsider the will bit: Adam had the BEST intentions. There, Adam, are you happy now?
Adam-
it showed in html on my comp as well although the link says .txt.
MC-
ah, no. It's not hollow this time. But then... have to listen to it once more to express myself better. But what I can tell you is that for my taste, this bass solo doesn't really fit the song. I'll be back on it...
okay...I have to have a listen now that Matt fixed the link! ;-)
I'm with Borya: the bass solo is so different from the rest of the song. It's like it should be 2 different pieces....but then again I prefer the flamenco guitar anyways.
don't feel so bad about being the dad who doesn't know...our dad calls the keyboard "the typewriter part" and the monitor "the television part."
