The Forcast Calls for Smoke

I can't keep track of the number of wildfires burning in Arizona. The Cave Creek fire is about one hour north of my home and has burned around 150,00 acres so far. On the way to work in the morning I can see the smoke from that fire spreading from due north to the east. Another fire broke out last night about 30 minutes drive to the south. It seemed to be fully contained last night but I haven't checked the news yet today. The weather forecast last night didn't call for the normal conditions. Typically you'll see windy, warm, or something like that for the overnight conditions. Last night the description was actually listed as Smokey. I stepped outside and thought I'd stumbled into a large outdoor barbeque.

hmmm, sorry to hear about the smoke and the fires. We've had some bad fires storming through here for the last few years and the potential is still great. There is photo in the newspaper with a picture of the forest and instead of the floor being a bed of pine needles it is covered in matchsticks...

so much for clean desert air. mother nature provides us with the greatest beauty and the worst tragedies. there is nothing like the hopelessness in the face of something nature puts before you. hopefully everything will be under control soon.
